When some people use capitalization and profanity in their social media posts, it comes across as part of an angry rant.
But when those caps and f-bombs come from Samuel L. Jackson’s keyboard, the actor insists it’s probably him goofing around.
At least that was the case earlier this week when he posted a photo of a “Spider-Man: Far From Home” movie poster in Singapore that had his character Nick Fury’s eye patch on the right eye. (The character actually wears it on the left.)
He wrote in the caption: “What In The Actual (expletive) IS GOING ON HERE???!!! #headsgonroll”
On the “Spider-Man” carpet Wednesday night, Jackson said that his social media post was nothing more than him sitting at home and coming across the photo. “I was like, ‘I haven’t posted anything today, I’ll post this.’ That’s it.”
So no, even though Jackson has spent many hours of his life covering his eye in character, and covering the same eye as he studied that character’s lines (he finds it best to memorize Fury’s lines with one eye closed), he wasn’t actually offended by the erroneous Marvel movie poster. And as for using the F-word in his photo caption? “I use that word a lot,” he says.“Always.”
